Let's Rock The Vote...!

Do you guys still remember Anna's magazine photo shoot earlier this year? For those who have missed it, here's the post. After almost a year of waiting, finally is coming to the end. Now is the time to vote for the 11 finalist of Cosmopolitan Magazine "Fun Fearless Fabulous" Malaysian edition. Anna was chosen by Cosmopolitan Magazine for the January issue.

Inilah pertama kali Anna terpilih untuk acara "girl-girl" sebegini. (She was the only married finalist..!)

So guys, get the latest November issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine (Malaysia Edition) and let's start rocking the vote for Anna...!

We're on Schmap.com!

Camera has always be our top priority whenever we go travel. I guess to everyone too. You wouldn’t want to miss those wonderful moments and beautiful sceneries... (A reason why we bought our first DSLR Nikon D60, after years of saving…hehehe!).

We love to keep our photo as it is… meaning without any touch-up using Photoshop or Lightroom or any other photo retouching software. (I guess that old-skool feeling of non-digital era is still in us..) If we’re not satisfied, we just snap it again and again.

Last week, we received an email from Schmap.com – the website for destination and travel guides loaded with photos, reviews and map. Three of our photos have been short listed, and earlier this week, two of them have been chosen. These are the photos and the link, link and link to the website. It’s a very big surprise for an amateur like us. Thank you again Schmap.com

Somethin' About Carboot Sales@Maeps...

Hai semua...

Today we have special edition post. It's not about travel, not about ourselves, it's about Carbootsales@Maeps. Since we started almost 4 months ago, I've seen a lot of improvement especially on management. The crowd is encouraging but due to Hari Raya and Deepavali celebrations, crowd wasn't that happening same goes to the sellers.

The good news is starting November, this place will be expanding to bigger area for Autosales, meaning you can sell or buy a car directly from the owner. Awesome!!! Actually, this place is still looking for vendors that can offer different kind of things to sell. For us, to please the crowd, we as sellers must come out with a lot of different ideas to sell things and how to decorate or set up the stall creatively. We have been to a few fleamarket/bazaar/carbootsales aboard and they always come out with something new and interesting. No wonder market@Portobello Road in London lasts for more than 100 years..

Carbootsales@MaepsCarbootsales@MaepsCarbootsales@MaepsCarbootsales@MaepsCarbootsales@Maeps
Forget about Carrara@Gold Coast, Chatuchak@Bangkok, Paddington Bazaar@Sydney,  Jalan Surabaya@Jakarta or Pasar Karat Lokin@Ipoh, we can just be like them if all the vendors/sellers stick together, be more discipline and play our role to promote this place. I'm sure one day, we can be as big as Shah Alam market or even bigger and better.

Carbootsales@MaepsCarbootsales@MaepsCarbootsales@Maeps
There is one thing I quite like it, the punch card system that has been introduced recently.. It's for vendors not to come "LATE and go back EARLY". Quite cute though!

Carbootsales@Maeps
For all of you guys out there who have never been to Carbootsales@Maeps should come and witness for yourself. There are a lot of stalls selling different kind of thing with affordable price. From clothes/shoes/accessories, secondhand goods, collectibles, toys, plants(herbs and deco), to unwanted household and not to forget tasty delicacies and the famous drink, Ice Blended! Plus free entertainment (karaoke) too! And also, you can have a moment of relaxation at the reflexology stall!

Coming soon attractions!!!! WiFi kopitiam, Pets and of course, CARs. Next to this place, there are go-kart and car drift track, plus other facilities such as washroom and surau.

What are you waiting for?! Mark your calendar now! And even kids love it!

Putrajaya: Monorail & Bridges.

We just found out about Blog 4 FT (Federal Territories) while browsing the newspaper last week. Launched by the Minister of Federal Territories, Datuk Raja Nong Chik, the idea of this blog is to encourage people to share and to promote Kuala Lumpur, Labuan & Putrajaya in this whole new media. By the way, he also has his own website, FacebookTwitter… hmm, impressive. Since we’re staying in Putrajaya, we take this opportunity to promote this place.

Besides for it’s usual attraction (Masjid Putra, Dataran Putra, Taman Botani) Putrajaya is also famous for its beautiful & artistic bridges. There are total of 9 bridges in Putrajaya such as Jambatan Seri Wawasan, Jambatan Seri Saujana, Jambatan Putra, to name a few. But among these 9 bridges, there is one that really got my attention. Yup, it’s the Putrajaya Monorail Bridge or known to some as Putrajaya “Suspended” Suspension Bridge.

Putrajaya Monorail BridgePutrajaya Monorail BridgePutrajaya Monorail BridgePutrajaya Monorail BridgePutrajaya Monorail Bridge
This bridge was designed to link the monorail from Putrajaya Sentral to other destinations in Putrajaya. It was part of public transportation project other than buses and taxis. The project was delayed in 2004 due to financial constraints and until now the bridge remains uncompleted. There’s a lot of discussion and critics whether to or not to continue this project as some said that Putrajaya is still a ghost town.

Ghost town? Isn’t that gives an idea on what to do with this uncompleted bridge. If you like watching apocalyptic movies like 28 Days Later, Planet of the Apes, Escape From New York and I Am Legend, you’ll get the idea. If we can promote it properly, who knows one day this location can be used in this type of movies. Hmm...

Fascinated about Pelangi

Hi guys!, so how’s your Hari Raya celebration so far? As for us, tahun ini memang agak sibuk sedikit. Tahu-tahu aje dah masuk minggu ketiga raya. Blog pun dah lama tak update…hehehe!

Actually, we have plan to write on us celebrating this year Hari Raya but it has to be cancelled since we “tak sempat” to strike a pose. Overall, we had and still having wonderful time with families, relatives and friends. (Thanks for the open house too..!)

At meantime, we would love to dedicate this beautiful song “Pelangi” from a talented singer/songwriter, Izzy Mohamed. Really love her voice, sound and lyrics. Do checkout her Myspace and Facebook for more info. Not forgetting, her latest project with Nokia N97, where Faizal was part of the production team for this project.

Enjoy the song ya…!

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri

Diam tak diam dah masuk hari ke 3 kita menyambut bulan Syawal. Tahun ini kami beraya di Putrajaya. Biarpun keadaan agak lengang disini, tapi senario pagi raya agak berbeza. Teringin juga nak pergi tapi seriously, we can’t stand the long queue…hehehe.

Today we’ll be going out beraya to our friends and relatives and also pulang ke Faizal hometown in Rawang. Before thing gets busier, we would like to wish all our blog readers and followers “Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri - Maaf Zahir dan Batin”.

John + Paul + George + Ringo = The Beatles

The Beatles 09.09.09 Remastered
I remember my first time listening to The Beatles when I was in Standard Four. When my father was playing The Beatles vinyl, it didn’t catch my interest till I heard the song “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da”. He introduced me to the band and more about John, Paul, George & Ringo.

From that song, I started developing my interest in The Beatles (and lots of other music genre too), learn to appreciate collectibles and reading on music book and magazine, which I found useful whenever I go travel…

Now after almost 40 years from their last album and breakup, The Beatles once again create a Beatlemania to the old & new generation of fans. The band released the new Remastered & Rediscovered cd’s. on Sept 9, 2009 which is available in stereo & mono. Mono…? That’s really a classic.

Not to be missed this excitement, I went to the launching of the Remastered album in Bandar Utama on 9 Sept 09, and at 9.09am, the album was released for fans and customers to buy. I bought the Abbey Road album, which is my favourite. (ingat nak beli semua tapi budget tak cukup…hehe) From the album cover/inlay to the sound quality, everything was improved and it is definitely worth a buy… and collected!

Studio@Abbey Road
I hope that one day, I’ll get a chance to go to Liverpool and experience the place where all the magic started. So far, I’ve managed to travel to Abbey Road Studio, London and The John Lennon Museum at Saitama, Japan. (read my earlier post….). But I missed to visit the Dakota Apartment in NYC (where John Lennon was murdered) and his Imagine monument in Central Park (this park is huge..!). This is the fun part when you do your own research and backpack, which some of the travel packages don't provide. It may not be a big deal to some people but to me, it’s a very priceless moment as a Beatles fan and from the day I’ve known them..
